SPS video verification alarms have caught intruders to two premises close to one of the venues for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow – While the area is meant to be in lock-down in the run up to the big event!
The two sites, next door to each other, are earmarked for redevelopment, and are protected by SPS video-verification alarms. When activated, each alarm instantly records a clip and sends it to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), where our highly trained operatives verify that the activation is caused by intruders and coordinate the response from police and other security services.
On 1st July it was widely reported (read report here) that the areas around the Games venues were going into lock-down mode to ensure maximum safety and security for a successful Games. That very night, SPS video alarms activated in the two adjacent premises. Our ARC operatives were instantly able to verify the activation as genuine, and initiated response procedures. This ensured police were on the scene in time to make four arrests.
